Gotta love fighting a dragon for a princess--some girls are worth it!
My final version - about 12 hrs from the rough to this.
My rough
First idea--I liked it but it was too pulled back and seemed to much like a "concept" piece.
I did a few others designs I liked that I may do later.

Ever since I got my iPhone a week ago or so I feel like I have been much more productive with reading and staying abreast on news that interests me and some news that doesn't.
A few weeks ago I met with a publisher that I was hoping to work with on their children's book idea but I found out I didn't fit their bill. I was especially excited because I thought it could've been that break I was waiting for--it wasn't though. I did realize though that my skills must finally be tuned enough that I should be able to get some work, so that is my goal and I'm off to pursue it with vigor! I'll be in a comic themed gallery show in April and I signed up for children's book workshop that is happening this Saturday--I'm excited but then again I need to actually do the work (which is far more important than being signed up for a show tentatively or going to a workshop).
For lent I've decided to stop being lazy. I'm getting back into a routine! I need routines, they keep me productive and moving forward. My wife gets up early for work and I'm going to get up with her and start working hard on drawing for three hours and that will leave me plentyof time to accomplish what I need to do before classes (like dishes, homework and errands). It's nice to feel productive again and I'm sure my wife is just as happy. Anyway, I need to accomplish goals and with deliberate practice applied to a standard, routine schedule I know I can do see them through--if only for my sake.
Ciao
